On Thursday 5th September, I had the pleasure of attending an event held in aid of International Animal Rescue (IAR) at the George Club in London’s Mayfair.
As representatives of Shining Hope Foundation, it is important that we maintain strong links with organisations that are close to our vision of promoting sustainability and harmony between people, animals and nature. IAR do exactly that by ensuring that animals that are suffering are protected and rescued around the world.
The event was a wonderful night of fundraising and socialising, thanks to a fantastic auction, led by Lord Dalmeny from the auction house Sotheby’s, who had an amazing selection donated by organisations such as the McLaren Formula 1 team, The Ivy restaurant, Hasselblad Lunar, the England Cricket Team, Quentin Blake and Working Title Films. In total, the event raised a fantastic £25,000 for IAR.
The night was a great success, and as a Founding Member of Shining Hope I was able to catch up with the IAR Chief Executive Alan Knight, who was very pleased with the event. A personal highlight for me was meeting the special guest of the night, astronaut and the second man to walk on the moon, Dr Buzz Aldrin.
