Who is Shining Hope Foundation?
Shining Hope Foundation is a grant-making organisation, which promotes sustainability and harmony between people, animals and nature. How does Shining Hope work?
Shining Hope Foundation provides grants for carefully selected projects across the world, which help transform people’s lives and protect the environment. We support one project at a time, providing funds over a period of three years, to ensure maximum impact and long term sustainability. 100% of the donations we receive go towards our life-changing projects and our accounts are audited annually by Jackson & Jackson.
What are our values?
How do we select partners?
I am a donor based in the United States. Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. American donors can support the Shining Hope Foundation in a tax-efficient way through a donation to the “American Friends of Shining Hope Foundation”, established at the King Baudouin Foundation United States. We do not incur expenses associated with accounting, legal counselling or filing annual tax returns.
Because KBFUS is a 501(c)(3) public charity, donors may claim the maximum tax benefits allowed by U.S. tax law for their contributions. KBFUS will send to each donor contributing $250 or more an acknowledgement of his/her donation, as requested by U.S. tax law.
KBFUS is a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity whose office is based at 10 Rockefeller Plaza, 16th Floor, New York, NY10020. The charity is associated with the Brussels-based King Baudouin Foundation (KBF), named after Belgium’s late king and a founding member of the European Foundation Center.
I am a donor based in United Kingdom. Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. This is open to any individual UK taxpayer (including those residing abroad) who want to apply to Gift Aid and donate any payment (or series of payments) regardless of the amount involved. Payments are treated as made after the deduction of basic rate tax (currently 22%) and the Shining Hope Foundation is able to recover this from HM Revenue & Customs. If you are a higher rate taxpayer donor, the Foundation can claim relief equal to the difference between the higher and basic rates applied to the grossed-up equivalent of the amount paid.
To keep its administrative costs as low as possible, the Shining Hope Foundation has contracted with Justgiving, Giving.com Limited, whose registered office is at 1st Floor, 30 Eastbourne Terrace, London, W2 6LA (registration no. 3871904) trading as JustGiving (“JG”). For 10 years, JustGiving has processed donations for charities, facilitating online donation for thousands of charities in the UK by credit card and taking the hassle out of Gift Aid by reclaiming it on behalf of the Shining Hope Foundation from HMRC. We get the funds much quicker than the usual four to six weeks we’d have to wait if we had submitted the claim ourselves.
I am a donor from another country of the world. Is my donation tax-deductible?
It depends on the tax regulations that are in place in your country.
In Europe several countries have introduced tax-effective giving to public-benefit organization. Actually these countries are: Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia and the United Kingdom. Can I make a donation from every country in the world?
Yes. If you wish to support the Shining Hope Foundation, here is how to proceed:
Shining Hope Foundation has partnered with Network for Good, an organization that facilitates online credit card donation for thousands of American charities. Online donations are fully secure and because Network for Good is a 501(c)3 public charity, donors may reclaim the maximum tax benefits allowed by US tax law for their contribution. Please note that your credit card statement will list “Network for Good” as the beneficiary.
Network for Good will then transfer your donation to the “American Friends of Shining Hope Foundation”, established at the King Baudouin Foundation United States (KFBUS).
As required by the IRS, Network for Good has exclusive legal control over donations to our donor-advised fund. All donations are final and may not be refunded.
You can make a gift by cheque.
Write your check to KBFUS, write “American Friends of Shining Hope Foundation” in the memo section of the check, and send it to KBFUS, 10 Rockefeller Plaza, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10020.
Are my online-donations secure?
For online donations coming from the US and other countries of the world, except the UK, we use the Donate Now service from Network for Good.
Network for Good processes all online credit card transactions for non-profit organizations that use the DonateNow service. They use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt all data submitted to and from our site over the web.
As for online donations coming from the UK, we use the Justgiving online donation service. All transactions and credit card information entering JustGiving systems are encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates from VeriSign. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted in a web browser to JustGiving. You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing you enter as part of a secure JustGiving transaction can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.
