The Trustees of Shining Hope Foundation showed their support for female empowerment recently by attending an event in Geneva, Switzerland. The event was hosted by the Womanity Foundation, a charity which supports disadvantaged women and girls across the globe including India. It was attended by more than 1,000 guests and raised an estimated £1.3m (CHF2m) for their programmes.
The event, which was one of Womanity Foundation’s biannual fundraising galas, saw an auction of limited edition lots including holidays, cars and experiences. Highlights included the chance to participate in an FC Barcelona football match and take home a customised vintage Rolls Royce. The evening was also supported by the French Foreign Affairs Minister Yamina Benguigui, and Francesca Versace.
Marie, Xavier, Astrid and Serge Saint-Arnoult attended the gala to show their solidarity with the fight for women empowerment, a key part of the work Shining Hope supports in Bihar, India.
Shining Hope Foundation Trustee Marie Saint-Arnoult said:
“Coming to these events is always so important because you get a real opportunity to take a step back and hear about the movement for female empowerment across the world.
“These events also mean we can learn how the work of Shining Hope Foundation feeds into that cause as we help women and girls become healthy, intelligent and happy people, with the opportunity to contribute fully to their societies.”
